No, as long as it can see them: you add your own cat or dog in the app and they are excluded from deterrence, while the neighbour’s cat is still treated as a visitor. In Basic mode (no Wi-Fi or full darkness) the camera cannot recognise anyone, so an AirTag or any Bluetooth tag on the collar is what keeps your pet safe. No tag? Keep Basic mode off if your pet goes out at night.

No. The camera sleeps until motion wakes it and it only looks at your planters. People are detected on the device itself and those frames are deleted before anything leaves it, so no photos of you, your family or neighbours are stored or uploaded. Only wildlife photos reach the gallery.

Not in normal operation. Motion only wakes the camera; the device then checks who is there and responds only to an animal you chose to deter. People, your pets and wind in the leaves are ignored. In full darkness the camera cannot see who is there, so the device switches to Basic mode: motion triggers a response unless a phone or a Bluetooth tag is nearby. Prefer silence at night? Turn Basic mode off and it just sleeps until morning.

Wi-Fi brings species recognition, the photo gallery and updates; a phone hotspot or a cheap extender is enough for a garden.
