You choose which species to deter
A motion repeller fires at anything that moves: you, your cat, a leaf in the wind. BalconyPatrol recognises squirrels, birds, cats and dogs, and you pick which ones get the sound and light. Add your own cat or dog in the app and it is never deterred. People are ignored too.
You see who came, and when
A repeller never tells you what happened. A security camera does, but it doesn’t stop anything. BalconyPatrol keeps a gallery of wildlife photos with the time of each visit and whether it was deterred. People are filtered on the device, so a photo of a person is never stored or shown.
It keeps working without Wi-Fi
Most smart cameras stop being smart when the Wi-Fi drops. BalconyPatrol switches to Basic mode: it can’t tell species apart, so it responds to motion unless a phone or a Bluetooth tag is nearby. People carry phones, your pet can wear an AirTag, and wildlife carries nothing. Wi-Fi brings back species recognition, the gallery and updates.
No wires, hose or wall socket
Motion sprinklers need a hose, and most cameras need a socket or regular charging. BalconyPatrol sleeps between visits and a small solar panel tops up its battery, so it runs for several days to several weeks without sun. It sits on a railing, a shelf or beside a garden bed, with no drilling. If the battery ever runs flat, any USB-C phone charger brings it back.
